WA Youth Orchestras is excited to again host a morning of workshops for young string players in the South West, followed by an afternoon concert.
What is SWYS
Young musicians will be given the opportunity to meet and play with string students from around the South West region to experience music making in a string orchestral setting. Students will be coached by professional string tutors. It promises to be a fun and exciting day filled with lots of great string playing and learning!
Participating in SWYS
The SWYS program takes place from 10am to 4pm, usually on the last Sunday of July at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre. The final celebration concert starts at 2:30pm. (Please note that these details are subject to change.)
No audition or application fee is required, but there is small participation fee of $45 which includes all tutoring fees, the opportunity to participate in the South West Strings final celebration concert at BREC, plus morning tea and pizza lunch. Applications for individuals can be submitted via the online form below.
Applicants will be placed in one of the three string ensembles according to their level and ability. Applications for SWYS will open in June 2019.
