Christopher Dragon Appointed WASO Assistant Conductor

Over the last two years Chris has made the transition from clarinet to conducting baton.

Dragon played the clarinet in WAYO from 2010 – 2012 and began his conducting studies in 2011 after winning the WA Youth Orchestra’s Woodside Concerto Competition. After participating in the Symphony Services International Conductor Development program and attending masterclasses in Europe, Christopher was appointed WASO’s first Assistant Conductor earlier this year. As part of his role he will gain experience by working with WASO’s musicians and staff, principal conductor Paul Daniel and other guest artists throughout 2013.

Christopher is also music director of the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, the South Side Symphony Orchestra and currently conducts WAYO’s Philharmonic Orchestra.
